Aerotel Kuala Lumpur: Convenience and Comfort

Aerotel Kuala Lumpur caters specifically to weary travellers by offering flexible check-in times while providing the level of comfort that guests are already accustomed to. Operated by Plaza Premium, the company that manages lounges across the globe that travellers have come to enjoy and appreciate, Aerotel expands Plaza Premium’s offerings to include overnight stays.

There are a number of Aerotels around the world and the Gateway@klia2 location is the first in Malaysia. The airport hotel features four room types that can be booked for blocks of either 3 hours, 6 hours or 12 hours. This is a great way to rest especially if you have free time before your connecting flight.

As I had an early flight out to Singapore the next day, I decided to give Aerotel a try. Check-in was a breeze and I headed straight to my room. As I entered, I instantly noticed that the noise slowly dissipated from the busy foot traffic of travellers trying to catch their flights. I wasn’t completely cut out from the outside world but I did appreciate that the noise was kept to a minimum in here.

Aerotel does not compromise on quality as you’ll get all the amenities one might expect from a premium hotel. My room mixes simplicity with functional designs. For instance, there are no cabinets and the hangers are laid out in the open. A glance of the room is enough to spot all your belongings, making sure you will not leave anything behind. I am guilty of leaving my possessions behind while travelling, so you can imagine how helpful this is.

Guests also get a meal voucher which they can use at the bar, located opposite the hotel. The menu is simple and all room categories are provided with this entitlement. Plaza Premium also operates a number of F&B outlets at klia2 including Green Market.

The good thing about staying at Aerotel is its peacefulness. The downside was I had to make sure that I didn’t miss my flight as there’s hardly any disturbance! I requested a wake-up call to ensure that I could catch my flight.

So the next time you  have a long layover and choose not to rough it out by sleeping on the benches near the departure gate, I  highly recommend staying here. For details, visit Aerotel’s website or head over to their counter at Gateway@klia2.
